European projects create thousands of valuable educational resources. Yet many become difficult to find, access and reuse once their projects end. European Skills Lab helps these resources remain visible, accessible and useful.
Valuable knowledge is created. Too much of it remains underused.
Resources are scattered
Educational outputs live on dozens of separate project websites, each with its own structure and its own search. Finding the right material usually means knowing which project produced it first.
Project websites disappear
A project website is typically maintained only for as long as the funding lasts. When it goes offline, the materials it hosted go with it.
Good materials remain underused
Resources that took months to develop are often used by the consortium that produced them and then seen by almost no one else.
Files are not yet learning experiences
A folder of documents is not a course. Turning individual files into something teachable still takes an educator’s time, judgement and design work.
From project outputs to reusable learning resources
Bring resources together
Materials from different European projects are collected in one place, under one address that does not change when a project ends.
Structure them
Each project keeps its own folder structure, and folders and files carry descriptions — so a collection can be read and understood, not merely downloaded.
Make them reusable
Projects choose a Creative Commons licence, shown on the project, folder and file pages, so you can see what you are allowed to do before you download anything. A few older imports carry none, and an empty licence box grants no reuse rights.
Connect resources intelligently
AI-assisted discovery helps users navigate collections and identify relevant learning materials.
Future functionality may help users combine available resources into learning packages or small courses.

Materials stay available beyond the funded period, at stable addresses that can be cited, shared and linked from dissemination reports.
What European Skills Lab believes
Open knowledge should be used
Openly licensed material creates value only when someone finds it and puts it to work. Publishing a resource is the beginning of the job, not the end of it.
EU project results should remain visible
Results funded through public European programmes should stay findable after the funding ends, rather than disappearing with a project website.
Educators should spend less time searching
Time spent hunting for usable material is time not spent teaching. Better discovery gives that time back.
AI should help people navigate knowledge
AI should support discovery, organisation and learning design — not replace educational expertise, critical thinking or educator judgement.
