Title

Building up Resources for Institutions to Develop Global Engagement of international Students by Mentors

Description

This project will facilitate social inclusion in regions for groups of local young people and for international students, studying at HEI’s in that same region. Mentoring will be used as a tool to connect individuals and groups over a longer period in a way that goes beyond superficial contact. By profound and guided interaction, supported by preparation, intervention and debriefing, young people in regions, international HEI students, organizations, and perhaps other groups in the region, will truly connect and work together. The project will equip universities with mentoring as a tool for inclusive cooperation with the region. This project will develop a mentoring program. Mentoring focusses on equality in mentoring relationships, empowerment of all parties involved and beneficial results for both mentor and mentee. These equal relationships will be based on building trust to establish a safe atmosphere to look for similarities, exchange ideas and discuss differences.
